These Pizza Tacos combine the best of both worlds—crunchy taco shells filled with the savory flavors of pizza. Perfect for a fun family dinner or a casual get-together!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 packet taco seasoning
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 8 small taco shells or tortillas
- 1 cup diced tomatoes
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- 1/2 cup sliced black olives
- 1/2 cup sliced pepperoni or cooked sausage (optional)
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Cook the Beef: In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Drain excess fat. Stir in the taco seasoning and 1/4 cup of water, and cook according to the seasoning packet instructions until the beef is well coated and the sauce has thickened.
- Prepare the Shells: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). If using taco shells, bake them according to package instructions to crisp them up. If using tortillas, you can warm them in a skillet or in the oven until soft.
- Assemble the Tacos: Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce on each taco shell or tortilla. Spoon the seasoned beef evenly into each shell. Top with a mix of shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheeses. Add any desired toppings such as diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, black olives, and pepperoni or sausage.
- Bake: Place the assembled tacos on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese and fresh basil or parsley if desired. Serve immediately while the cheese is still gooey.
